Dear Sarah

Re: Music Journalist (seek.com.au)

Following our telephone conversation yesterday, I wish to apply for the role of Music Journalist advertised on seek.com.au on Thursday 16 October.

I am an experienced print and broadcast journalist with a genuine love of music. I am currently working as a freelance features journalist and my features appear regularly in The Age, The Guardian (UK) and local music publication StreetVibe. I also have significant experience working as a presenter and journalist for community radio stations Beat FM and Rhythm FM. My responsibilities at these stations included writing and producing the weekly local music news coverage.

The opportunity to develop my career in music journalism excites me as I follow the music scene closely and enjoy performing with my band.

My current and past employers can speak for my excellent communication skills, strong news and feature writing skills, eye for detail and ability to find great new story ideas.

I am confident that my experience and skills in journalism and my interest in music will be an asset to your publication and would enjoy the opportunity to work for you.

Thank you for taking the time to consider my application. I look forward to the opportunity to discuss my suitability for the role in an interview.

Yours sincerely
