Course Rundown

The CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing & Disability) offered by MCIE is designed to equip students with the essential skills and knowledge required to provide high-quality support to individuals in aged care and disability settings. Over a duration of 32 weeks, this training program combines both online learning and practical work placement, ensuring that students gain hands-on experience alongside theoretical knowledge. Participants will engage in core units that cover vital areas such as recognising healthy body systems, supporting independence and wellbeing, and working ethically and legally within the community services sector.

This course not only focuses on the foundational aspects of individual support but also offers elective units that allow students to tailor their learning to specific interests, such as providing support to people living with dementia or working effectively in disability support. With a mandatory 120 hours of work placement, students will have the opportunity to apply their skills in real-world environments, preparing them for a rewarding career in the community services sector. Eligibility

To be eligible to study this course, applicants must meet the following entry requirements:

  • Complete a Pre-Training Review and meet the Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) skill standards for this program level and/or,
  • Have completed a year 10 level at school and/or,
  • Be recommended to have attained the age of 18 by the program commencement date and/or,
  • Have a Unique Student Identification (USI) number and/or,
  • Provide evidence of a National Police Background Check, Working with Children Check, NDIS Worker Screening Check, Flu or COVID-19 vaccinations, and a First Aid Certificate for work placement.
