Taking a scientific approach to movement, its function and implications on the health of the human body, this Bachelor of Health Science (Dance) from the Australian College of Physical Education (ACPE), offers a new perspective on dance as both a form of art and exercise.
Focusing on the physiology and biomechanics of choreography and dance styles, this course provides you with a deep understanding of the functions of the body and how best to condition it through exercise. Students will learn how to apply scientific principles to dance movements and develop a greater understanding of dance techniques and apply health science knowledge to improve dance performance.
The course is ideally suited to those wishing to pursue a career in dance below the level of elite performer, and is offered on campus (with selected subjects available online) at ACPE.
