Thank You Email Template

About an hour or so after your interview, you’ll want to send out a quick ‘Thanks!’ message to your interviewer.

It’s not just because your mum taught you manners and you appreciate their time. You want to show them how enthusiastic you are about the position, reiterate how you’re the perfect fit, and demonstrate that you’re willing to go that extra mile for the job.

Use this email template to craft the ultimate ‘thank you’ email for every job interview.

Subject line

Thank you, [interviewer’s name]!

Email body

Hi Amanda,

Thanks so much for your time earlier today. It was great meeting you and learning more about [company name], and getting a behind-the-scenes look at a company I’ve admired for so long. It was particularly exciting for me to hear about the [X,Y,Z] projects your team has been working on. As you know, I specialise in [X,Y,Z], and thanks to my experience with [A,B,C] I’m certain I’d be able to hit the ground running with these projects!

Here’s the [insert specific information] you asked for. Feel free to contact me if you need anything else from me.

I really appreciate the opportunity for an interview, which has reinforced my interest in becoming a part of your team.[Insert something personal here if possible, e.g. I hope you enjoy your trip to Melbourne – if you’re a coffee fiend like me, be sure to check out The Hardware Societe!]

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Best regards,

[Your name]
