Course Rundown

The CHC43015 Certificate IV in Ageing Support from InterCare Training is ideal for individuals seeking to start or advance their career in the aged care sector, and for those with prior experience in care or community services looking to enhance their skills. Through a combination of online and in-person delivery, this course prepares you to work primarily in residential aged care facilities or homes, following organisational guidelines and service plans. Day or night classes are available.

The course includes 18 units of theoretical and practical education along with 120 hours hands-on work placement in the field, to ensure you graduate with expertise in providing services for individuals with complex needs and managing groups of older adults.

At completion, you will have the foundational knowledge and understanding required to work effectively with older people, know how to carry out activities related to an individualised plan, and the ability work effectively with co-workers and report directly to a supervisor, among other skills and hands-on experience in the aged care field.

Please note: This course is not available to individuals on a 500 or 600 visa.

Eligibility

There are no pre-requisite qualifications for entry into this course. However, InterCare Training have processes to ensure this course is aligned to your needs, including but not limited to: an invitation to a detailed information session, a Language Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) assessment, and a Pre-Training Review.

You must also be a minimum of 18 years old to enrol.

A national Police clearance is required before the placement component can begin.

Evidence of certain vaccinations is also a required, including but not limited to influenza (flu) vaccination and COVID vaccination prior to the placement component.
