Blended
What happens when you combine the convenience of online study with traditional face-to-face classroom training? Blended learning! Blended learning has proven to be a real crowd pleaser; allowing students to reap the benefits of a flexible study timetable offered by online learning, with the added advantage of face-to-face peer support and teacher guidance. You may also hear this method of training referred to as “mixed-mode learning” or “hybrid learning”.
On Campus
If a social and interactive study experience is what you’re after, then traditional on campus study is the way for you! Opting to study on campus means you’ll get a more hands-on experience and have face-to-face contact with fellow students, support staff and teachers. Plus you’ll be able to attend social events, stay motivated with group study sessions and access to student facilities and all library resources. On campus study is best when you live within easy travelling distance or you want to live on-site.

Qualification Level

Certificate
Certification courses are typically specialised in a single skill set or field. The great thing about a certificate is they are generally considered entry-level which means minimal prerequisites! Start with a Certificate I and build your skills and understanding by progressing to a Certificate II, III or IV. Wanting to get into a trade, beauty, community services, hospitality or fitness? A certificate can get you qualified! Alternatively, a certificate is a great pathway for getting accepted into a degree program.
Course Unit
Get a taste tester of a degree when you undertake single-unit study. A unit is a study module worth a specific number of credit points (not to be confused with a course subject). Single unit study is great for filling in a skills gap, increasing your chances of getting into a degree programme, reduce future study time with recognition of prior learning, or may inspire you to continue onto a postgraduate degree. Single unit study is not available from all providers or with all qualifications so be sure double check.
Postgraduate

Postgraduate qualifications come in all sorts of shapes and sizes. There’s a Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma or Master’s Degree, which give you an in-depth understanding in a specific field; or gain the most prestigious qualification in Australia with a Doctorate Degree.
Each postgraduate course is aimed to facilitate study pathways, i.e. graduating with a Master’s will allow you to progress onto a Doctorate.

Undergraduate
An undergraduate qualification is commonly referred to as a Bachelor Degree and is the first level of study offered by universities.

A uni accredited degree is the main gateway to many professional fields, and will give you a broad range of knowledge, skills and problem-solving capabilities to hit the ground running in your chosen industry. Upon completing the three to four years required for a degree, you’ll have the option to further your knowledge in a specific area with one year of honours study.

Gain a valuable and hands-on learning experience when you study with TAFE (Tertiary and Further Education) or a VET (Vocational Education and Training) provider. Get practical experience with an apprenticeship or traineeship, or earn a certificate or diploma and go straight into the workforce equipped with the right skills. Their courses prepare students to work in fields like building and construction, aged care, community work, office work or trades. TAFE and VET training facilities offer nationally recognised qualifications and are government regulated – which means you’ll be getting the highest in educational standards.
Private College
After a smaller and more close-knit learning environment? Study at a private college! Private colleges are smaller, independent tertiary training institutions, offering students a more personalised learning experience. These providers tend to focus on more specialised industries such as design, business, art, hospitality, and health. Get qualified with a short course, certificate, diploma, degree or even a postgraduate degree.
Government Study loans
Government study loans like HECS-HELP and FEE-HELP allow you to start the path to your dream career today and pay later! HECS-HELP or FEE-HELP is available to students planning to study at a university or other HELP approved tertiary providers. In order to receive assistance with funding all or part of your course, you must be an Australian citizen or permanent visa holder residing in Australia. Once you work and your salary reaches the compulsory repayment threshold then you gradually begin to repay your HELP debt.
Fee for Service
Fee for service (also called upfront payment) means you pay your course fees directly to the provider instead of going through a government loan scheme like FEE-HELP or HECS-HELP. It’s a popular route for short courses, professional development and courses that aren’t eligible for a government loan. The upside? No debt to repay down the track. Plenty of providers also offer payment plans if you’d rather spread the cost, so it’s worth checking what’s on offer when you enquire.
