The Certificate IV in Ageing Support offered by InterCare Training is designed for individuals looking to enter or advance their careers in the aged care sector. This qualification equips students with the essential skills and knowledge required to provide high-quality support to older individuals in various settings, including residential facilities and community environments. Participants will learn to facilitate individualised service planning, deliver personal care, and support clients with complex needs, ensuring their well-being and dignity are maintained.
Throughout the course, students will engage in both theoretical learning and practical work placements, allowing them to apply their knowledge in real-world scenarios. The curriculum covers a range of topics, including communication skills, cultural awareness, and ethical practices, all crucial for effective interaction with clients and colleagues. With a focus on hands-on experience, the program prepares graduates for various roles within the industry, such as Community Support Worker, Personal Care Assistant, and Care Worker, among others. To enrol, you must meet the below requirements:
Be at least 18 years of age
Hold a current National Police Clearance before commencing placement
Provide evidence of required vaccinations for placement, including influenza and COVID-19
To access Career Boost funding in Queensland, you must meet additional criteria. This includes:
Holding a Certificate II or higher-level qualification and/or
Having relevant work experience in the aged care or community services sector
