Course Rundown

The CHC42021 Certificate IV in Community Services, offered by InterCare Training, is a nationally recognised qualification for anyone looking to build a meaningful career in the community services sector. The course is available online and in-person in Adelaide, with a minimum duration of six months. No prior experience or pre-requisite qualifications are needed to get started, making it a great entry point for those ready to make a real difference in people’s lives.

Across 15 units — seven core and eight elective — students develop the practical skills and knowledge needed to deliver person-centred support in a range of community settings. Key learning areas include working with diverse people, applying ethical and legal practices, recognising and responding to domestic and family violence, promoting Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander cultural safety, and supporting people with mental health or disability-related needs. The course also covers crisis response, individual service planning, and building collaborative networks with families, carers, and other service providers.

Graduates of the CHC42021 Certificate IV in Community Services may go on to work in roles such as community support worker, case worker, outreach worker, or client support coordinator across community organisations, non-government organisations, and disability support or aged care programs. The qualification can also serve as a stepping stone into further study, such as the Diploma of Community Services. Enquire to learn more.

Please note: This course is not available to individuals on a 500 or 600 visa.
