Course Rundown

The CHC52025 Diploma of Community Services (Virtual Classroom QLD Only) offered by KCA Education is designed for individuals passionate about making a positive impact in their communities. This course provides essential skills and knowledge to support and empower individuals and families facing various challenges. With a blend of theoretical learning and practical experience, students will engage in a comprehensive curriculum that covers key areas such as case management, community development, and support coordination, preparing them for a rewarding career in the community services sector.

Students can choose to participate in this course through in-person classes or virtual online classrooms, making it accessible for those who may not be able to attend on-campus sessions. The program spans 31 weeks, including 120 hours of supervised work placement, allowing students to gain hands-on experience in a relevant community services organisation. Graduates will be well-equipped to pursue diverse roles, including program coordinator, social housing coordinator, and mental health support worker, in a sector that is projected to grow significantly in the coming years. Please note: You must be already working in Community Services or Health to enrol in this course.

This course requires full-time attendance in scheduled online virtual classes over a few months, replicating a face-to-face experience. It is NOT self-paced, so unsuitable for those looking for a flexible course.

Virtual class times are Monday to Wednesday, 5pm to 9pm, and require full-time attendance.

This course is only available to students in Queensland, and is NOT available to people on 500 or 600 visas.

Eligibility

To be eligible to study this course, applicants must meet the following entry requirements:

  • Must be an Existing Worker in the Community Services and Health industry
  • Preferred minimum of a school certificate or equivalent and/or,
  • Physical ability to stand, lift and bend to complete required tasks and/or,
  • Pass the Police check in the state or territory prior to work placement if required and/or,
  • Have vaccinations against infectious disease prior to work placement if required.
