The Diploma of Digital Art (2D Animation) offered by CG Spectrum Institute is designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in the dynamic field of 2D animation. This course focuses on breathing life and personality into 2D-drawn characters, props, and environments using specialised software like Toon Boom Harmony. Students will gain a comprehensive understanding of production pipelines and creative workflows, preparing them for a successful career in the creative industry.
Throughout the course, students will develop both creative and technical skills, including the 12 Principles of Animation, advanced digital and cut-out 2D animation techniques, and essential interpersonal skills. The curriculum is designed to be flexible, with 100% online delivery, allowing students to study at their own pace. The course also emphasises the creation of industry-level work that will catch the attention of recruiters, ensuring that graduates are job-ready with a polished portfolio or showreel.
Eligibility
To be eligible to study this course, applicants must meet the following entry requirements:
- Completion of a Year 12 Australian Senior Secondary Certificate of Education (for example, VCE, QCE, WACE, HSC, SACE, etc.) or equivalent and/or,
- Completion of a certificate III level qualification, or higher, issued under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) and/or,
- Completion of a certificate IV level qualification (for example, a TAFE Diploma) issued under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) and/or,
- Completion of a diploma-level qualification issued under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) and/or,
- Experience-based entry – for applicants who do not meet any of the requirements above.
