Course Rundown

The CHC50125 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care, delivered by Monarch Institute, is a nationally recognised qualification for students looking to take the next step in their early childhood education career. Available to students in Victoria, this fully online course helps learners build the skills needed to support children’s learning, lead daily practice, and take on more responsibility in regulated early childhood education and care services.

Students have up to 24 months to complete the qualification, which includes 15 units of competency and 300 hours of mandatory work placement in a regulated early childhood education and care service. The course covers key areas such as curriculum planning, child development, health and safety, inclusion, behaviour guidance, family and community partnerships, environmental responsibility, and team leadership.

Students also complete learning activities through Little.ly Early Learning Centre, a simulated early childhood setting designed to help them practise using workplace documents, policies, and procedures before completing workplace assessments. Graduates may pursue roles such as Early Childhood Educator, Educational Leader, Family Day Care Coordinator, Childcare Centre Manager, or Outside School Hours Care Leader, or continue into further study in early childhood education.
