How Much Will It Cost?

This course can be paid for through the FEE-HELP government loan scheme. If you are an Australian citizen or hold a permanent humanitarian visa, you may not need to pay upfront.

Instead, the Australian government will pay your course fees directly to the provider on your behalf. You’ll begin repaying your loan through the tax system once you start earning more than the minimum threshold of $54,435 (2024-25 financial year).

Course Rundown

If you are currently a nurse or a midwife, and would like to boost your career by moving into child and family focused care and evidence-informed policy, then this Graduate Certificate in Child and Family Health from UTS Online could be the ideal qualification for you.

This contemporary course will teach you all the family and child care essentials, and by the end of the course you will be able to confidently and competently provide high-quality, interdisciplinary and equitable care by working in partnership with families and caregivers. You will study crucial topics such as theoretical and practical foundations of child and family health, family and community health in practice as well as learning all about the development of younger and older children within a family.

You can complete the UTS Online Graduate Certificate in Child and Family Health and have the subjects, or credit points, attributed to a Master of Women’s and Children’s Health.

Eligibility

Applicants must demonstrate the following:

  • Completed a UTS recognised bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in midwifery or nursing;

AND

The requirements to work as a child and family practitioner vary throughout Australia. This course has been designed to meet the guidelines for NSW. If you are based outside of NSW, please ensure this course fulfils the requirements of the governing health body in your local state or territory before applying.
