Across 12 units of competency, the BSB40520 Certificate IV in Leadership and Management covers broad learning areas including leadership and workplace behaviour, communication and relationship building, operational planning and resource coordination, critical thinking, continuous improvement, personal and professional development, and workplace wellbeing. Learners also explore cyber hygiene best practice, rounding out a well-balanced skill set suited to modern workplaces. Assessment is practical and realistic, using written tasks, case studies, projects, and role-play demonstrations set in a simulated workplace environment via Zoom — meaning no formal work placement is required.
The course is delivered entirely online through a blended learning model, combining weekly live trainer-led Zoom sessions with flexible self-paced study through an online learning management system. Spanning 12 months, learners can expect around 26 hours of study per week, supported by monthly one-on-one mentoring, regular trainer feedback, and a dedicated learner support team. Hader Institute of Education also offers a Job-Ready Program as part of its learner support, and the qualification can serve as a pathway into the BSB50420 Diploma of Leadership and Management for those looking to progress further.
