The Graduate Certificate in Nutrition, offered by Endeavour College of Natural Health, is a six-month, AQF Level 8 higher education qualification delivered entirely online. Designed for health professionals looking to deepen their expertise, the course builds advanced knowledge in nutrition science and equips graduates to address real-world nutrition challenges using evidence-based approaches. Part-time study is available for those balancing existing work or personal commitments, with around eight hours of study per week and the flexibility to complete coursework at any time within set delivery periods.
Across four core subjects, students explore the relationship between diet and chronic disease, the fundamentals of human nutrition and metabolism, nutrition needs across the full human lifespan, and dietary assessment methods including the evidence base for functional foods and supplementation. Throughout the course, students develop skills in interpreting nutritional data, applying the Australian Dietary Guidelines and Nutrient Reference Values, and communicating nutrition information clearly across diverse professional settings. Cultural responsiveness is woven throughout, with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives integrated into a client-centred approach to practice.
This qualification suits individuals who already hold a bachelor’s degree in a health-related field, or those with relevant professional experience in areas such as wellness coaching or dietetic assistance. It is worth noting that the Graduate Certificate in Nutrition does not lead to registration as a dietitian or clinical nutritionist, but it does open pathways into public health nutrition, community health education, and nutrition support roles across a range of populations. Graduates may also use this qualification as a stepping stone into the Graduate Diploma of Clinical Nutrition at Endeavour College of Natural Health, with credit available for prior study completed.
