Course Rundown
The Graduate Diploma in Clinical Nutrition, offered by Endeavour College of Natural Health, is a postgraduate qualification designed for health professionals who want to deepen their expertise in clinical nutrition and apply it across a range of real-world settings. Delivered over one year full-time, with part-time options available, the course combines online study with supervised clinical placements at one of six campus locations — Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Gold Coast, or Perth — or at an approved external clinic. It is an accredited Australian Qualifications Framework Level 8 Higher Education qualification.
The curriculum covers a broad range of learning areas, including the relationship between diet and chronic disease, human nutrition and metabolism, lifespan nutrition, dietary assessment and analysis, and advanced case-based clinical reasoning. Students also complete supervised clinical practicums, where they work directly with clients to develop skills in nutritional assessment, treatment planning, behaviour change counselling, and culturally responsive care. Throughout the course, there is a strong emphasis on evidence-based practice, ethical conduct, digital literacy, and interprofessional collaboration — equipping graduates to work confidently alongside other health professionals and stakeholders.
This qualification suits those who already hold a relevant bachelor’s degree or have significant professional experience in a clinical nutrition-related field, and it is particularly well suited to practitioners from allied or complementary health backgrounds looking to expand their scope of practice. Graduates may be eligible to apply for membership with the Australian Traditional Medicine Society (ATMS). The course can open pathways into roles across community health, government health departments, private consultancy, corporate wellness, health advocacy, research, and education.
