Course Rundown
The Diploma of Health Science (Chinese Remedial Massage), offered by Endeavour College of Natural Health, is a one-and-a-half year qualification that blends the philosophy and practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine with a solid grounding in Western health science. Delivered across six campuses — Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Gold Coast, and Perth — the course is also available part-time, with a mixed-mode structure that combines online, on-campus, livestream, and blended learning to suit a range of schedules and learning styles. It is an accredited Australian Qualifications Framework Level 5 Higher Education qualification.
Students build knowledge across two complementary streams throughout the course. The Western science stream covers human biology, systems physiology, pathophysiology, and pharmacology, giving students a thorough understanding of how the body functions and how disease develops. The Chinese medicine stream introduces the foundational theories, history, and terminology of Traditional Chinese Medicine, including yin yang, the five elements, and the vital substances, before progressing into consultation and diagnostic techniques. Hands-on practical skills are woven in from the very first teaching block, with students developing proficiency in Tui Na, acupressure, moxibustion, cupping, gua sha, topical herbal applications, and medical Qi Gong. Students also gain supervised clinical experience at Endeavour Wellness Clinics, applying their skills under the guidance of qualified practitioners. The course additionally covers the professional and business skills needed to establish and manage a clinical practice, including ethical responsibilities, legal and regulatory considerations, and practice management.
Graduates of the Diploma of Health Science (Chinese Remedial Massage) are well positioned to practise independently or within a multidisciplinary clinic alongside other allied health professionals. There is scope to specialise in areas such as sports medicine, musculoskeletal health, and general health maintenance. For those who wish to continue studying, the diploma offers a direct pathway into the second year of Endeavour’s Bachelor of Health Science (Acupuncture Therapies) or Bachelor of Health Science (Chinese Medicine). Graduates may also be eligible for membership with relevant professional associations. Enquire to learn more.
