Course Rundown

The Diploma of Clinical Exercise Science, offered by Torrens University Australia, is a one-year full-time qualification (with part-time options available) designed to build a strong foundation in health assessment, exercise prescription and the science of human movement. Delivered on campus or in a blended format at the Melbourne campus, the course covers key areas including musculoskeletal anatomy, exercise psychology, professional communication, nutrition, and evidence-based exercise testing and programming. Students develop practical skills using industry-standard tools and digital technology, preparing them to design tailored exercise programs that support individual health, injury prevention and long-term wellbeing.

A standout feature of this course is its emphasis on hands-on, real-world learning. Students gain practical experience in a student-led clinic, working through client health scenarios under the guidance of experienced professionals. The course is accredited by AUSactive, Australia’s peak fitness industry body, meaning graduates are eligible to register as a Personal Trainer or fitness professional upon completion. Smaller class sizes mean more direct access to academic support, helping students build confidence and competency throughout their studies.

For those with longer-term study ambitions, credits from this qualification can also be applied towards the Bachelor of Health Science (Clinical Myotherapy) at Torrens University Australia. Enquire to learn more.
